Narendra Modi Launches 5G In India

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 5G services across 13 cities of the country in a grand event today. The users of Airtel will have a chance to use it immediately. Mukesh Ambani of Reliance, Sunil Bharti Mittal of Bharti Airtel, and Kumar Mangalam Birla of Vodafone Idea will start the service in the selected cities and the nationwide coverage will take some time. Reliance Industries Limited owned Mukesh Ambani announced that Reliance Jio will start 5G services across the nation by December 2023. He also said that Reliance Jio will offer the 5G services at the cheapest price of the nation. The auction for 5G services was held recently and it received a record of Rs 1.5 lakh crore bids and Reliance Jio acquired more than half of the bids at a price of Rs 88,078 crores. Reliance also confirmed that the 5G services will be launched during Diwali in New Delhi, Chennai and Mumbai.

Airtel will be launched 5G services in eight cities of the country and it would cover the nation by March 2024. Airtel also said that the current sim cards are 5G enabled and will function without any flaws in the handsets of 5G smartphones. Airtel 5G services will be available at existing 4G rates and the new plans will be revised at a later date. Vodafone Idea said that they are focused in the rural regions of the country . Vodafone Idea also partnered with OnePlus to make smartphones that have 5G. The Indian government says that the nation will have 80 percent of the coverage of 5G in no time. Union Minister for Communications, Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw informed the news in the past. Narendra Modi lauded the efforts of the communication giants for their work.
