
A reward of total $50,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest of a suspect involved in the death of a Texas deputy constable, who was gunned down as he arrived at work on Monday in Baytown.
$15,000 was added by the Governor’s Criminal Justice Division. $35,000 was a added by Baytown Crime Stoppers award for information about the shooting death of Harris County 30-year-old Clinton Greenwood law enforcement veteran was airlifted to a hospital in Houston, where he was pronounced dead.
The shooting led to the lockdown of a high school and a broad response by law enforcement as authorities closed intersections as part of their search for the suspect.
Governor Greg Abbott, issued a statement, “My heart goes out to the family and friends of Assistant Chief Deputy Greenwood and the Harris County law enforcement community in the wake of this heinous murder."
"Texas is taking action to strengthen penalties for those brazen enough to commit crimes against law enforcement, and we will send a message that such vile acts will not be tolerated in the Lone Star State," he said.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton also expressed condolences to the slain constable’s family, “The thoughts and prayers of Texas people are with the family of Clint Greenwood, who has died from a gunshot wound in Harris County. Paxton said. My office stands ready to assist in any way possible. This is a reminder to pray for and support all law enforcement officials in our state, especially at this time of grief,” he added.
