Two 16-year-old boys have been booked for first-degree murder for murdering their 17-year-old schoolmate at Wylie East High School.

The deceased, Ivan Mejia’s, dead body was discovered in Garland on Saturday night. The cause of his death is yet to be clear.

According to the Wylie police, the high school senior was slayed behind the school, on Bennett Road, on Saturday night. Police deem it as a cold-blooded murder. The names of the two charged juveniles haven't been revealed by the officials.

The incident came into light shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, when a 911 caller reported that a car had veered off State Highway 78 near Firewheel Town Center mall toward a wooded area.

When the officers reached the spot, they saw a vacant car and two 16-year-olds running into the woods. When they returned after sometime, they saw cops waiting and confessed to their crime.

Garland police found Mejia’s body buried nearby and called Wylie police.

The two Wylie East students are in Collin County Juvenile Detention facility. They are yet to get a bail.
