The foremost fear regarding intimacy for most people, especially men, who have heart disease is being scared that having sexual activity can cause a heart attack or other heart-related illness. It is a long-standing fact that your sexual life tells a lot about your heart health.

study revealed that having more sex helps men with heart diseases. Men who had sex at least twice a week were half as likely to die of heart disease as men who had sex rarely.

Below are a few other things your sex life can tell about your heart health:

1. Erectile Dysfunction (ED) and heart health are linked in various ways. As per studies men who have erectile dysfunction are more vulnerable to heart diseases than men who don’t have ED. About 57 percent of men who had bypass surgery to restore normal blood flow to an obstructed coronary artery and 64 percent of men hospitalized for heart attacks had ED at least at one point in their lives.

Erectile Dysfunction is a condition that occurs when a man can’t get or keep an erection firm enough for sexual intercourse. It is even said that if a man has ED then he is likely to have some kind of heart disease symptoms within five years. In fact, ED is one of the important risk factors for heart disease than a history of smoking or coronary artery diseases.

2. Loss of sexual desire is linked with your heart health to some extent. A lowered sex drive may indicate Cardiovascular Disease (CVD) problems. In case you are opting for viagra, a medication used to treat erectile dysfunction, remember, it only makes things worse!

3. Lowered stamina on the bed is often due to cardiovascular diseases people have. A history of heart attack or chest pain caused by heart disease may also affect your sex life by increasing the heart rate.
