Uber Driver Found Guilty of Sexually Assaulting Drunk Passenger

As trail period commenced for an Uber driver for sexually assaulting a woman, the jury found Talal Chammout guilty of sexually assaulting his Uber passenger in July 2015.

The jury made up of seven men and five women as well found Chammout not at fault on a second charge of forcing himself on his accuser during their first encounter.

The accuser who was in a court room when he was declared not guilty for the second charge, she buried her face in her hands and sobbed.

Chammout declared ten years of life imprisonment and the jury will be continuing the penalty phase on Monday.

During the proceeding, the accuser who took stand under the Pseudonym Lindsay Kramer spending three hours on the witness admitting she doesn’t amply remember regarding the incident.   

“As disgusting and challenging as it was, I had to call my rapist and discuss scheduling or planning another meet up. I was desperate to get him to admit what he did.” said Kramer with jury members.

Chammout was using a fake city Uber permit, prior to felony conviction which should have barred him from becoming an Uber driver. If convicted he would face two years of imprisonment.
